What's the big deal about natural soap, anyway? 

Aside from just being pretty, there are some major differences between handmade soaps and commercial soap and body washes. 

First and foremost, the ingredients in our handmade soaps are cleaner and healthier. Mass-produced products typically contain harmful chemicals that are not only terrible for the environment but also for your skin. They might 'clean' you, but they are basically detergents that are damaging your skin barrier and stripping it of its natural oils, leaving you feeling dried out and tight. 

Handmade soaps contain glycerin, which is a by-product of the saponification process. Glycerin is a humectant, which means it helps your skin to retain moisture and also draws in moisture from the air, which in turn helps your skin stay hydrated. Commercially produced soaps often have the glycerin removed to be used in other products (vaping liquids, lotions, and other higher priced products), which is one of the reasons your skin ends up feeling so dehydrated after washing.
